I'm wearing a 20 pound weight jacket and heaving a 15 pound medicine ball. And I don't get hurt because I'm under the watchful eyes of highly trained physical therapists.
If you are not challenging yourself when exercising, you will inevitably reach a plateau. It’s only when you increase weights, speed, or distance, that you continue to get strong and stay strong.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not inclined to do that on my own. I need to be encouraged, ok, pushed.
Don’t’ want to get hurt? Me neither….that’s why I was thrilled to discover a gym run by physical therapists who lead all the classes and serve as your personal training coach.
I've been to physical therapists when I was in pain and they’ve been wonderful in helping heal the injury. But as you know once you are healed, you are discharged. Insurance reimbursement doesn’t allow physical therapists to continue to work with you to get stronger and stronger and prevent injuries from happening.
This gym, owned and run exclusively by doctoral-trained physical therapists, is not like that. You simply pay a monthly fee and every week you are challenged with new exercises, heavier weights, different movements for all parts of your body. Result—you get stronger….muscles, bones, joints, heart. If you feel like you’ve overdone something, they provide physical therapy on the spot.
If you want to regain your strength but have had injuries or maybe are recovering from surgery…or have bad knees, back, shoulders….you must work with physical therapists!
Take a look at ReCharge, a physical therapy clinic and gym. They are starting a brand new class called Senior STRONGfor people just like you and me.
