Choosing to do what matters most in the second half of life requires that you listen deeply to what touches, moves, and inspires you.
This voice, deep within, is what I refer to as your "Inner Sage." When tapped, your Inner Sage will release an energy that will take you into the depth of yourself and into the full flowering of your life. As you are beginning to see... by taking just four steps, you can tap into the energy that makes new growth possible.
The 4-step process described in my book applies to all ages, as it is the universal growth process. And yes, while it is true that it would be ideal to learn this process in our young adult years, the context of the second half of life provides the richness and depth of understanding that we on the other side of 50 desire.
Wouldn't it be amazing if you could learn ways to deal with and fully embrace the changes, growth, opportunities, and yes, even the magic that is yet to come?
Isn't that what we all want? Yes, it is. And so, little by litte as we grow older, we become more receptive to this 4-step process and seek to develop our inner guidance more and more.
There are two main tasks in the second half of life:
1.) to release what is no longer true, needed, helpful, desired, or valued...and
2.) to allow new feelings, insights, or something that is creative, challenging, or resourceful to emerge; as well as to allow something that may be richer and deeper-more meaningful-to surface.
You probably already know this, but performing the inner work to release what no longer serves you can be difficult. Yet doing so allows you to experience a sense of aliveness and wholeness.
I've been doing this work for over 15 years and it never ceases to amaze me how good I can feel when I let go of something old and embrace something new that wants to emerge. I have been blessed with teachers who so wisely led me through this 4-step process time and time again, understanding that only I would know what was right for me and trusting that subtle energy within that would take me into the full expression of my life-tenderly supporting me in removing the obstacles that were in my way.
As I reveal in my book, I believe that in the second half of life we are always moving toward healing and wholeness. What do I mean by wholeness?
Wholeness results when you have acknowledged and expressed all parts of yourself. You have let go of "old" and allowed in the "new" resulting in a sense that you are being your total self; you have overlooked or held back nothing. Moving toward wholeness occurs when you let go of the past--making room for the new to emerge and be expressed in the world.
I'll bet this resonates with you, doesn't it?
I wish you a very happy life with lots of passion, risk, adventure and new learning. I look forward to working with you and learning together.
